The Coliseum Health System Volunteers were pleased to offer 10 scholarships of $1000 this year to deserving graduating high school seniors and post-secondary students to afford each of them the opportunity to pursue their chosen careers in healthcare. These funds are raised each year through the efforts of our volunteers at Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital.
The 2015 CHS Volunteer Scholarship recipients are:
Bayleigh Carver: Howard High School; attending UGA, pursuing Pharmacy
Allison Estes: First Presbyterian Day School; attending UGA, pursuing Pediatric Oncology
Maggie Floyd: Twiggs Academy; attending Middle Georgia State College, pursuing Pre-Med
Courtney Knight: Shorter University; attending Mercer Pharmacy School, pursuing Pharmacy
Courtney Lawrence: First Presbyterian Day School; attending Georgia Southern, pursuing nursing
Chiamaka Nwokeocha: Central High School; attending Georgia State, pursuing Pediatrics
Tasha Ogoh: Central High School; attending Georgia State, pursuing Pediatrics
Trey Powell: Howard High School; attending UGA, pursuing Biomedical Engineering
Katherine Strickland: FPD; attending Georgia Tech, pursuing Biomedical Engineering
Auriel Wright: Northeast High School; attending Harvard, pursuing Epidemiology
Six of our Scholarship winners were able to attend a breakfast banquet on June 23, and three recipients attended on July 28. The remaining recipient, Auriel Wright, was unable to attend either date as she was participating in a youth study program in China for the whole of the summer.
