Steve’s Weekly Wrap-Up (October 16, 2015)

action planThis week we heard from our first group of presenters for the employee survey action plans. Presenting were the OR, Endo, ED and 3rd floor. I was impressed with the thoughtfulness of the plans and the engagement of the staff who helped present the plans with their Directors. I learned a lot and heard some great plans to make our hospital great. Only when we are engaged at all levels of the hospital, every stakeholder, will we succeed as an organization. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to hearing the other plans and progress you’re making.

Important maintenance announcement: We will be shutting down the boilers maintenance_logofor annual inspection on Monday night –19 October at 8:00PM. They will be down all night.  We expect to have them back up and operational by late Tuesday morning—11-noon. During this time we will not be able to generate hot water or steam for any purpose. We have several hundred gallons in the tanks but we cannot keep it hot or make more. Please be judicious in the use of what hot water we have in storage. The ER will not be affected.

Recognition:

  • The third floor staff was excellent!  Martha (nightshift), Stephanie (from New York) and Shirley (PT) were amazing!  Very attentive, very encouraging and Martha anticipated my needs prior to me asking for anything.  Shirley was a shining star to my stay.  I wish she could go home with me.    (Patient – P.W.)
  • Congratulations to Alec Rovinsky who passed his CT registry exam! – Becky Whiddon
  • Auneen Brawley discovered a broken floor tile in the equipment room on 3rd floor. She called Plant Ops to assess and repair the floor.  It was repaired quickly and is now protected by a mat to cushion it from trapeze bars that may drop. Great Catch!  – Angela Lintz

Have a great weekend and enjoy the nice fall weather.
