It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of long-time volunteer Peggy Zachman. Peggy passed away on Tuesday during her recuperation from hip surgery. She had recently moved back to Kennesaw to be with family and was so excited to be back closer to her son and ex-husband. She was an active volunteer at CNH for 6 years and was twice nominated for the HCA Frist Humanitarian award. Peggy spread her cheer across the hospital working in the gift shop, visiting patients and making charts for Pre-op. Peggy was LOVED by all the volunteers and co-workers and was a beloved member of H2U. Besides her volunteer efforts Peggy was an avid football fan and could match her knowledge of the game with any red-blooded American male!
Peggy was born in Seneca, SC in 1927 and left us at the golden age of 89. She was mother to 6 children and counted 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren amongst her life blessings. Services will be held tomorrow at 2pm in the Chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of St Francis, 5314 N. Columbine Rd, Denver, CO 80221 or www.francisanway.org
Our lasting memory will be from her going away party on June 10th where she left us with joy in her heart and a smile on her face.
