Steve’s Weekly Wrap-Up (November 11, 2016)

thank-youTHANK YOU!  Yesterday, you all handled the volume influx with great teamwork, communication, as well as empathy and respect for each other and every single patient. These are the core values that make us a great team of caregivers. I saw the complete focus and engagement across jobs and departments to make a potentially chaotic situation look like a ballet.

pat-in-scrubsThat work continues today with our highest census of the year: 58 patients seeking your care and compassion. Every patient I visited with in the ED, ICU and med/surg floors complimented all of you on the exceptional care provided. Stephanie helped me clean a bed, Pat scrubbed in the OR, Wayne and Joshua managed the house and found nurses, Jamie and her team took overflows, EVS kept the rooms clean, FNS kept everyone fed, April brought her smile to every room, and the ED team made 120 visits look effortless. I know I didn’t get everyone but I wanted to paint the picture of everyone’s unique and critical role in providing comfort to our patients.  You exemplify how a team comes together in times of need. Thanks again from all of us on the terrific job you do here every day.

veterans-day-2016-social_coliseum-northsideOn behalf of the Administrative Team, I want to recognize and thank our veteran’s for their service and sacrifice for our country. May God bless all of you. We are grateful for you today and every day!

open-enrollmentThe DEADLINE is near! November 15th is the last day to add or make changes to your benefits at The benefits fair has been running since 6am and continues until 6pm if you have questions. You must log on to the site to get your $650 discount on health insurance if you are a non-smoker.

As you are completing your benefits enrollment I ask that you also consider a payroll deduction for the United Way or Hope Fund for 2016. Both are great organizations that provide help to those in need in our community. Maybe one of you or a member of your family has used a United Way partner agency (33 in Middle Georgia) or received help from our very own Hope Fund. You can sign-up at
44-polar-expressAgain this year, we are the sponsor of the Festival of Trees at the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences.  The Festival of Trees is a great holiday activity for your family – to see the decorated trees and attend a showing of the Polar Express in the planetarium.
