Coliseum Medical Centers has been notified of the date of our corporate quality review survey. This survey will touch every department, all JC standards, as well as our compliance with HCA policies. It is a very thorough survey that prepares us for our upcoming JC survey in 2018. We will have 2 corporate surveyors onsite from May 8-12, 2017. This is part of our “Always Ready” program that prepares us all to show the great quality of care we provide regardless of when or who shows up to survey us.

Next week, I will representing Coliseum Health System at the Greater Macon Sleepout benefiting the Daybreak Center in Macon. Daybreak helps alleviate the crisis of homelessness by providing laundry, showers, and access to computers, printers, and telephones, as well as clinic services and case management. While Daybreak helps people search for jobs, find affordable housing, apply for benefits, and secure healthcare, their main goal is to build respectful relationships with individuals who have become isolated and estranged from community and to help them be successful on their road to greater trust and independence. I am proud to represent all of you to support this great community asset.
In 2017 we have committed to providing more development of our leaders (Directors, Managers, Charge nurses, supervisors and clinical coordinators) to enable them to be better leaders, execute our strategies and improve your workplace. We are currently providing a 3 part leadership development series: Part One: Mission, Vision and Values, Part Two: Leading Change and Staff Engagement, and Part Three: Driving the Patient Experience. We are also continuing our Harvard series on management through 2017. Our goal is to have the best leaders to continue to drive the growth and reputation of our hospital as the best place to work and the best place for care in middle Georgia.
We have two remaining town hall meetings at Coliseum Northside:
- Thursday, February 23 at 2:00pm in PACU
- Thursday March 2 at 1:30 PM in the 1st Floor Conference Room.
Come ask questions and hear about the great things happening at CNH!
My sister was very well taken care of by Crystal Sands in Day Hospital at Coliseum Medical Centers. We have had her as a nurse before with another family member a couple of weeks ago and she was as nice as she could be then and now. She makes her patients feel at ease, comfortable with asking questions, treating them with respect and dignity, meeting to every need, and even though she was at the end of her 3rd of 3 very long hour days, she treated us like it was the morning of her very 1st. Kudos to her! – J.H.
We just got a shout out from Dr. Mehta on our Division Infection Control call for our nice work on reducing infections from 2015 to 2016, and from 3rd to 4th quarters, 2016. Also for our work in de-escalating central lines and our work placing more midlines than PICC lines (and told the rest of the division to model us!). – Brandi Jones, Infection Control
My mom had a procedure this week at Northside and it could not have gone better. We had all been pretty nervous about her having this test done but the staff put her at complete ease the entire time. Debbie Middlebrooks was a rock star to her. She took as much time as my mom needed with explaining everything, attending to whatever she needed, made her laugh, and overall just making her comfortable the entire time like she was her only patient and my mom’s needs were all that mattered. Thank you! JH.
“To the 3rd Floor Nurses & Staff: I just wanted to thank you for the care and compassion you showed my grandmother and our family during her final days in the Hospice Suite. You showed us kindness, compassion and understanding during a difficult time and helped my grandmother pass on with comfort. We will forever be grateful, thank you!” Patient family member – M. P.
“I would like to recognize Dante Perry with Security for always going above and beyond for our CNH patients. He demonstrates a caring and professional attitude in all he does and sets a great example for others to follow. Thank you Donte for being such a great asset to our team.” Submitted by an ER employee
“Awesome customer care assessed by these two remarkable healthcare providers, Douglas Wheeless & Deanna Oliver (Emergency Dept.). They showed the true meaning of the word CARE!” Patient – T.T.
“I want to tell Coliseum Northside Hospital that Kristi Jones is the best RN that I have ever had. I thank God for her life.” Patient – Y.G.
Thanks for all you do!
