2017 CHS Volunteer Luncheon

We recently celebrated our CHS Volunteers and held a “Georgia Grown” themed luncheon in their honor at Wesleyan College. Our volunteers, staff, and administration were treated to a delicious lunch and an assortment of “Georgia grown” songs sung by Ellen Morgan. She ended her set with a rousing a cappella rendition of “Georgia on My Mind.”

We honored all of our volunteers, but gave special recognition to volunteers who had earned at least 100 hours in 2016 (each of these volunteers received a pin to wear alongside their badge). We were also honored to present ten local students pursuing careers in health care with $1,000 scholarships to their school of choice. Additionally, we honored volunteers with Longest Tenure, Most Hours in 2016, and Most Hours Overall. This years’ winners were: 

Anna Eaton (Longest Tenure at CNH -23 Years), Susan Maddox (Longest Tenure at CMC – 23 Years), Fay Tyndal (Most Hours at CMC 2016), Ray Wilkes (Most Hours at CMC Overall), Joyce Norris (Most Hours at CNH 2016 AND Most Hours for CHS Overall! 7800 Hours!!!)

We also celebrated our volunteers with some “Senior Superlatives.”

  • Best Sense of Humor: Jane Ray

  • Best Socks: Sarah Jones
  • Sweetest: Vivian Nace
