Happy 2018 Coliseum Northside Team!
I hope that your year has started out in a great way – I know that it has started out very busy for all of us at CNH! As everyone knows, this flu season has been extremely heavy across many parts of the country, including Georgia. It is gratifying to know that our community in Macon and the surrounding areas continues to look to us more and more as their provider of choice. As proof of that, we have broken a few records in January to date for ER visits in a single day, with our high point being 182 visits on Thursday, January 11th. I know that it has taken a lot of teamwork to get through this patient surge (which still continues). Many people have worked extra shifts or worked in departments that they are not normally assigned to, so that we can provide safe, quality care for our patients. The teamwork that you have shown has been amazing. Thank you all for living out our mission every day! – “Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”
A patient’s daughter recently stopped by administration to tell us that the care that her mother has received at Coliseum Northside has been “absolutely wonderful.” She went on to say that everyone that they have come in contact with since they came through the ER and were admitted to the ICU have been amazing! This nice lady specifically mentioned Barry Quesnel in the ED and Rosemary and Deborah in the cafeteria. Thank you for providing such a great experience!
Congratulations to our mammography department for recently receiving their three year ACR accreditation. We are also very excited to begin seeing patients in our brand new Interventional Radiology suite very soon! If you haven’t seen it yet, it looks great – and so does the rest of the imaging area with new floors, paint and other finishes!
Speaking of investments in CNH, we received funding in the last two weeks to purchase a new Stryker video system with 4K display and other great features. It is very impressive! We are also excited to see the ER expansion under way. This will add six new beds to the ER, which is very much needed. Expected opening is in June 2018.
