As everyone is aware, we continue to see elevated patient volume in the ER and the hospital as the heavy flu season continues. I know that the additional volume has put some unusual stress on many departments throughout the hospital, but as I walk around the facility I continue to see smiling faces and hear from patients about how well they are being treated. Thank you for living our mission: “Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.” I am very proud of our CNH team!
I hope that you are taking a look periodically at our Coliseum Cares Recognition Wall. So many people are being recognized by their managers or co-workers. Here are a few examples:
- Christie Amerson of Quality Management was recognized by Jan Rogers: “Thank you Christie for coordinating the Pain Management workshop with the Joint Commission consultant. The setting was beautifully staged, the handouts were very helpful and the discussion that you facilitated was extremely meaningful. I think everyone went away with questions answered!”
- Melinda Harrison of the Lab was recognized by Danny Manville: “Thanks for your continued support of the department and facility. Without your assistance we would not have been able to cover the shifts needed to operate the department. Your dedication helps us provide the care we give on a daily basis.”
- Anna Collins of the ER was recognized by Michael Dykes: “Anna consistently goes above and beyond her normal duties while taking care of her patients as well as helping her coworkers. She has excellent patient satisfaction comments and her coworkers cherish working with her. Great job and appreciate all you do!”
I hope you saw the video of our Employee of the Month, Kiana Robinson, when I was honored to recognize her for her amazing attitude and accomplishments. Check out our Facebook page – maybe you can be that person who pushes the views of Kiana’s video to 27,000!
Congratulations to the three Coliseum Health System leaders who are a part of the 2018 class of Leadership Macon: Lindsey Mote, Sheldon Mattox and Willon Hunter. I know they will represent our system well in this exciting program!
CNH hosted a great event on January 25th for the Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. It was a great opportunity to showcase some of our new technology – the Mazor X spine surgery robot, the Da Vinci Si surgical robot and the new Interventional Radiology Lab. Our guests were very impressed and I was very happy to get to brag about not just our technology, but our amazing team! Thank you to everyone who made the event a success.
Right now, we are in the middle of a very important survey called AHRQ which focuses on our Patient Safety Culture. All employees are invited to participate and prizes are given out each week. The survey is available until February 27th.
There are several opportunities this week to join me for a Town Hall. Please check out the schedule and come for a quick 30 minute update.
Thank you again for all you do, and I hope you have a great week!
