Steve’s Weekly Wrap-Up (March 23, 2018)

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Cherry Blossom bed Race and cheered on our team! As expected, the Fire Department literally ran away with the best time again. Coliseum Northside had a respectable showing with a 4th place finish and our team (Vic, Alton, Ben and myself) received the “Drift Off” Award for losing one of our team along the way (Alton) who fell early in the race and gave up some skin for the team. Two days after the race, my 55 year old legs were still feeling the aches and pains of running down Cherry Street. Thanks to the plant ops team for constructing our “bed,” and we plan to make some modifications for next year’s race. I hope to have some other team members next year, as well, to represent CHS and to save me from having to run!

Employee-Referral

Don’t forget about our employee referral program (you can earn $1500 for any candidates you refer that we hire)!

Above are throwback pictures from an event CMC employees will definitely remember…our 2017 United Way “Pie in the Face” Fundraiser. All of your fundraising efforts have definitely paid off and are already making a positive impact on our community! Yesterday, a group of “Leadership Givers” ($1,000/year or more) for the United Way joined Robin Parker (Coliseum Campaign Chair) and myself at the annual United Way Campaign celebration lunch. This year, the UW raised over $5,000,000 to benefit the 34 UW partner agencies. On behalf of Coliseum Health System, Robin accepted the “Rock Star Award” for your generous contributions that took us from $17,000 in donations in 2016 to $70,000 in donations in 2017 (+400% increase!)!!! Thanks for helping us extend our Mission beyond the walls of our hospitals into the community we serve. You are all ROCK STARS!!!
