Greg’s Weekly Update (April 20, 2018)

Hello Coliseum Northside Team!

Please congratulate our most recent employee of the month, Robert Hollingsworth, one of our transporters.  Robert is well known in the hospital as someone who is willing to help everyone and a person who lives our values every day.  Congratulations, Robert!

joint commissionThe follow up visit to our recent Joint Commission survey was a huge success!  I want to thank everyone for their hard work and for making Coliseum Northside a safe place for our patients each and every day.  I would like to recognize a few members of our team who did an outstanding job interacting with the surveyors when they were here in March.  Auneen Brawley of the 3rd floor, AJ Robinson of Central Sterile and Tammie Murchison of the Wound Center were among those who represented their areas and our team in a great way and were commended by our leaders and the Joint Commission team.  There are many others who have done a great job in preparation and continuous readiness, and I thank you!!

I think that our recent Doctors Day celebration was also a big success.  I hope that you were able to take a moment and thank your favorite doctors for what they do for our patients every day.  We are dependent on them as vital members of our team to deliver the highest quality patient care.  Thank you to our Medical Staff members!

patient experience week

This week, April 23-27, is Patient Experience Week.  As we continue to work to make our patient experience processes more robust and hardwired into our culture, it is good to take a moment sometimes and think about our own personal “why.”  Why did we choose a healthcare career?  Why did we choose Coliseum Northside?  Patti Jones is going to coordinate some activities next week that will give many of us a chance to share these things with our fellow team members.

It won’t be long and it will be time for our 2017 Service Awards Dinner on May 1st.  I look forward to seeing our awards recipients at the Downtown Marriott and honoring them for their years of service!

We also have Hospital Week celebrations coming up the week of May 7th with a lot of great activities planned – including the Food Truck Fest, ice cream social, Movie on the Lawn and other things!  You won’t want to miss the fun!

I look forward to another great week, focusing on the experience of our patients in our hospitals. That is who we are called to dedicate ourselves to, above all else.
