Coliseum Medical Centers, Coliseum Northside Hospital and the entire middle Georgia community are closely monitoring current weather forecasts ahead of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Michael.
We wanted to share some important information regarding our preparations in advance of the storm. Current storm models show that middle Georgia will be impacted by tropical storm force winds most likely Wednesday night and Thursday early am.
While the potential effect on our area is uncertain at this time, we want to assure you that Coliseum Health System has a strong emergency preparedness plan in place and is working with our colleagues across HCA as well as both local and state authorities in preparing for the storm and any possible impacts it could have on our patients, physicians and staff. We have already been preparing our facilities and taking appropriate measures to ensure that all of our mechanical systems are in working order and that we have ample supplies and materials on hand to continue to operate the facility throughout the storm and afterward.
Just as this storm has given us the opportunity to review our emergency preparedness plans and check lists, we would also encourage you to take this opportunity to review your own plans for your family and what arrangements you will need to make and have in place should it become necessary.
Your safety as well as our patients safety is our first priority and that will be the basis of our decisions during this weather event. We will be making more definitive plans tomorrow once we have a better idea of the path of the storm. Please monitor your email and our blog for updates.
Thanks you in advance for your commitment to our mission as we prepare to care for our community during this storm.
