Hurricane Michael: Thank You to our Staff

ThankYou-71

As we write this “Thank You,” Hurricane Michael has passed with minimal damage in the central Georgia area.

We have all experienced lots of rain, high winds, downed trees and some have encountered difficult travel conditions and storm damage. What we witnessed within our hospitals, however, was great leadership, and an enduring commitment to our patients. We are proud of the teams we have at Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside who are always willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of our patients. These times test us as a team and try our commitment to our mission, and you all have exceeded our expectations.

Today, we return to normal operations and ease back into our normal routine. Before we forget, please take the time to thank one another for the support you provided each other. We want to thank especially the plant ops team who made sure our hospital infrastructure was secure and ready to withstand whatever Hurricane Michael threw at us. In addition, a special thanks to the Food and Nutrition Services staff who managed a great meal for our staff on short notice in the middle of this storm.

Please pray for our colleagues at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City. That community and hospital suffered catastrophic damage during the storm at its strongest. Please let us know if you have received damage to your homes or property so that we can connect you with any resources available through HCA. We urge you to consider a donation to the Hope Fund to assist your colleagues here and in Florida at https://www.hcahopefund.com.

On behalf of the entire health system executive team, thanks for a job well done!
